It is challenging for everyone to get into the HABIT OF FITNESS when health results really start to show up.

Sooooo….this is the program where you actually get competent and fit with Nordic pole walking!

With accountability and encouragement you can actually get into gear with your fitness improvement.

Whatever your fitness level, you will be starting your 12 week program AT YOUR LEVEL AND PROGRESS FROM THERE!

Each week we will work on technique improvement including how to navigate hills with ease,

and then gradually stretch our fitness capabilities on the most beautiful walkway in Victoria.  This group is targeting the Esquimalt 5km on April 8 and the TC 10km on April 30 and will learn how to pole walk in “quad teams”.

IT IS BEST IF YOU HAVE ALREADY TAKEN A LEARN CLASS WITH LINDA in the last three years AND HAVE YOUR NORDIXX POLES, however we will be reviewing and improving technique at the beginning, and Nordixx poles will be available for sale at the class $91 includes taxes.

Learn lessons in 2017  are on Jan 30 at 1:30pm Feb 5 at 1:00pm, and Feb 6 at 1:30pm, Feb 12, at 1:00pm.

The fitness course starts on Feb 2.

The objective of the LEARN CLASS is for you to try Nordic Style pole walking to see if you like it and to see if it works with your particular body foibles.  Borrow Nordixx poles for free for this class.  First we will learn about poles, and then properly set up your poles for the class.  Most of the time will be spent progressing step by step through the FOUR BASIC STEPS of learning to NORDIC STYLE pole walk.  We learn a bit, apply it by walking along, stop and review, and then add on the next bit.  Regardless of your fitness level or speed, this class is exactly for you.

 

1:30-3:00pm

Class fee is $20

If you wish to buy the poles everyone wants, they will be available at the end of the class for $91 (which includes tax)

PS  You may repeat the LEARN CLASS as many times as you wish ($20).  It usually takes about 3 instruction classes to feel confident with this NORDIC STYLE of pole walking.

June 24 kick-off party in Sooke.  Walk first section of Goose and have lunch.

Sept 16 end-part in Victoria at Glo restaurant (Selkirk Waterway)

This is your passport to summer fun.  Get your PASSPORT.  Walk with the entire gang to start and finish the Galloping Goose, and then through the summer, pole walk each section at your leisure to fill your passport.

AT THIS CLASSROOM SEMINAR YOU WILL:

Learn what puts Nordic style pole walking in a class by itself in terms of effectiveness, do-ability, affordability, and enjoyment.

Excellent for those people in the process of losing weight for two big reasons:

1) it takes the weight off your poor feet, knees, hips, and low back while you are in the process of losing weight.  Every 10 pounds of extra body weight places up to 40 pounds of stress on your feet, knees, hips, but the use of poles in Nordic style pole walking can take up to 30% pressure off those joints.

2)  It wakes up your “mitochondria cells” so that they can burn fat more efficiently, and give you more energy.

TAKE NOTE:  Speed does not matter in Nordic Pole Walking.  We have the research to prove that it is the number of mitochondria you stimulate, not how hard your huff and puff, that activates the fat burning mechanism.
