This will be the best time of your life!  Get much fitter than you are now, in a way that seems to easy and addictive to create results.  Nordic Pole Walking uses 90% of the muscles, takes pressure off the knees, feet, hips and back, and feels easier than walking!  IT IS ADDICTIVE!

We will follow our training program gradually asking our body to get fitter.  Monday we train together, and then it is your responsibility to get out pole walking and follow your training schedule times for a total of 3 TRAINING POLE WALKS PER WEEK.

NO PRIOR POLE WALK EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  Show up at 6:00pm for a mini lesson and to get poles or pole adjustments.  We start our fitness training at 6:30pm.

It is your responsibility to register for the TC 10 km event, and you will receive a souvenir T-shirt in your event package. Fee approx. $40 (early bird registration) – $55 (late bird registration).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR Online registration process:

  • click on estimated time 80 minutes (so that all pole walkers start together regardless of speed),

AUTUMN CLASSIC EVENT @ Westshore Walk Way
Nov 6 @ 10:00 am – 1:30 pm

THIS IS THE EVENT OF THE YEAR!

The purpose is to have fun, get exercise, and build our Nordic pole walk community.

Using the new Westshore Walk Way facility, there will be an easy (1.5km) route, moderate 2.5 or 5.0km routes,  and challenging 5.5km route routes  to choose from.

Your objective can be purely recreational or social, or have a friendly challenge with like-minded pole walkers.

Many neighbourhood club teams will be participating.  Please proudly wear your club colours.

At the end of the pole walking everyone will move to the event center/field house for a party and social!

 

Everyone can park in the lot past the Q Center on the bottom field of the Westshore Rec Center.

We will assemble nearby, have club photos taken, so wear your colours, (maybe create a club name on a banner or a stick), sort ourselves into the different route groups, and off we go.

When the last participant finishes, we will walk to the nearby Event Center for our party!  All participants welcome.

EVENT: 5KM Esquimalt @ ESQUIMALT REC CENTER

This is a fun and scenic 5km event to kick off the new year.  Perfect timing for all those pole walkers in fitness training programs.   You need to register yourself through the Esquimalt.ca/events website;  early bird fee is $18 and late fee is $22/30.

NOTE: TWO Nordic Pole Walk Victoria trophies up for grabs by Nordic pole walkers in the Esquimalt 5km, and awarded at the Nordic pole walk after party. .

“TOP TEAM” will be won by team who has the largest total of  participants,  “victory tunnel polers”, and  participants in official marshalling positions in the event.  This award recognizes “participation’.

“BEST QUAD” will be won by the foursome who participates as a “quad” and crosses the finish line first.  This award recognizes “fitness”.
